There are approximately 761 bird species recorded in the Philippines. With the astounding opportunities to witness some of these species firsthand, the Wild Bird Club of the Philippines (WBCP) has announced an upcoming guided birdwatching tour at Tagalag Eco Park to encourage learning about the majestic creatures.
Since its establishment in 2003, the WBCP has promoted birdwatching as a hobby, pushing for both local enthusiasts and tourists to explore and learn about the country’s rich avian biodiversity, and to protect their habitats like marshlands and mossy forests.
One of the organization’s advocacies is to halt illegal logging practices. Beyond birds, forests offer a home to a wealth of wildlife, such as orchids, insects, and reptiles, making each trip to the wild a surprising encounter with natural wonders.
With the dry season at its peak, weather conditions are ideal for early-morning excursions, making this weekend’s Valenzuela trip a perfect introduction to the Philippines’ spectacular avifauna.
Join the guided birdwatching tour at Tagalag Eco Park in Valenzuela this March 22 and visit the WBCP page for more information.
