Badminton fans, make some noise! The Philippines is set to host the first-ever Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour in 2027 for the Super 100 division.
In the upcoming revamped format, the BWF has announced a 36-tournament structure spread across six levels, consisting of the BWF World Tour Finals, five Super 1000 tournaments, five Super 750 tournaments, nine Super 500 tournaments, eight Super 300 tournaments, and eight Super 100 tournaments.
The prize money for each tournament has increased across all tiers, with the pot money in the Philippines (Super 100) being $140,000 (PHP 8,122,800.00).
Qualified players will also receive an upgrade across all tournament setups, including LED A-board technology, upgraded lounges and player facilities, enhanced sports presentation, carnival- and festival-style activations, and a dedicated OTT platform.
The revamp and expansion into Southeast Asian countries are part of BWF’s so-called “Badminton’s Next Era,” focusing on the sport’s biggest growth phase worldwide.
