John Dela Cruz, better known for his alter egos Tita Marites, Mr. Smith, and Nurse John, is a Filipino migrant worker in Montreal, Canada as a nurse and most recently, a nursing clinical instructor. In 2024, Dela Cruz pursued a comedy career in the US, where he has since been pushing forward his own brand of humor.
As a medical practitioner, Dela Cruz took his personal experiences and used it as ammo to fuel his gags and skits, shining a comical light on the serious world of medical practitioners; and as a Filipino, he added his own cultural flair to make his jokes relatable and unique.
