Gastos reveal! GCash recently unveiled its Flashback feature, where users can check an annual overview of their spending, using the platform in their daily transactions.

GCash Flashback takes a cue from Spotify Wrapped, which collates and showcases data of the user’s platform usage for the whole year. This new feature serves as a useful reminder of financial transactions this year, helping users compare spendings (outgoing limit) and savings (incoming limit saved), among other app habits.

Users can access the feature by opening the GCash app on any mobile device and clicking the “Profile” button located at the lower-right of the screen. GCash Flashback will appear beside “View Benefits.” From there, the user can see a story-format panel to check the most memorable moments in transactions of a person’s account.

Users found it interesting to think that they have used GCash in different ways. One user shared in a post, “Grateful beyond words to all my amazing clients this year. Thank you for the trust and support,” highlighting their online business as one of the main drivers of growth in transactions using GCash.

Another user shared in a post, “GCash Flashback is a behavioral metric. Hindi nito sinusukat kung gaano ka yaman, kundi kung paano ka nagde-decide sa pera (It does not measure how rich you are, but how you decide to manage your finances.).”

With mixed reviews, the GCash Flashback feature continues to go viral as the year draws to an end and people reflect on how they managed their finances for 2025. And while it may be an unwelcome reminder for some, the new feature serves as a wake up call for everyone to track their earnings and spending wisely.
