Rave reviews highlighted in Rotten Tomatoes include one from Cultured Pop, which states “You Can See Everything offers such a uniquely involving experience and is easily one of the best movies of the year”
Another from The Globe and Mail writes, “A startling, radical, evolutionary work of documentary cinema built on a triangulation of characters who are the evil geniuses of our era – not only the greatest movie of the year, but also the most essential. It will destroy you, for the better.”
The Guardian gives the film a five-star rating, writing, “What I can tell you is that You Can See Everything is a masterpiece of who’s playing who, the fragility and absurdities of trust, seemingly begotten by chance.”
The Hollywood Reporter praises the filmmakers for the brave concept. “What begins as a fascinatingly intimate portrait of a deluded or disingenuous scammer reveals as something even wilder, more ambitious and less predictable, until we’re left to ponder what value a personal truth has at all.”
IndieWire rates the film with a Grade A, writing, “Fielder’s side-eye, always directed at Evans, gives viewers insight into his position, while Oppenheim’s expertise in feature narrative and documentary filmmaking elevates the film’s craft. Together, the duo keeps us on the edge of our seats, glued to the screen.”
