Get to know the virtual boy group that’s stealing people’s hearts!
HEARTSTEEL is the virtual boy band made up of six characters from the multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game, League of Legends. Players and fans of the game may also recall K/DA, the first virtual girl group from the game consisting of Ahri, Akali, Evelynn, and Kai’Sa. Just like those talented girls, HEARTSTEEL brought together a new set of champions and gave them their own music personas. Composed of Ezreal, K’Sante, Sett, Kayn, Yone, and Aphelios, the group debuted in 2023 with the single “PARANOIA,” which introduced the different members and their personalities to the world.

Originally in the game, the members all have various roles during battles: Ezreal is the Marksman/Mage who shoots basic attacks from far away, but almost all of his damage comes from casting spells; K’Sante is the Tank/Fighter who starts the fight by absorbing heavy damage for his team, then transforms mid-battle into an aggressive close-range brawler who deals heavy damage; Sett is the Fighter/Tank who is a front-line brawler that builds enough health to soak up hits while punching his way through opponents; Kayn is the Fighter/Assassin with two forms: Red Kayn plays as a self-healing close-range brawler, while Blue Kayn plays as a quick and sneaky killer; Yone is a Fighter/Assassin who has the agile, squishy-killing burst of an Assassin, but relies on continuous melee sword slashes like a Fighter to win extended duels; and Aphelios is a Marksman—a pure, traditional ranged damage-dealer whose entire focus is dealing massive physical damage from a distance.
And of course, as a boy band, HEARTSTEEL members also have their official positions. Ezreal is the vocalist, K’sante is the co-leader and vocalist, Sett is the other co-leader and rapper, Kayn is a rapper, Aphelios is the instrumentalist and songwriter, and Yone being the producer!

In case you didn’t know, the look of these characters can change depending on the “skin” they use during battle. Players can acquire the HEARTSTEEL skins of these characters in-game.
Just recently, Riot Games, the game developer behind League of Legends, dropped a whole new look for the HEARTSTEEL members just in time for their upcoming new single, “LIVE MY LIFE,” showing off new hairstyles, hair colors, and outfits!
For their debut single, “PARANOIA”, the voices behind HEARTSTEEL are EXO’s Baekhyun (Ezreal), Tobi Lou (K’Sante), Cal Scruby (Kayn), and ØZI (Sett). For the next single, we will be meeting new voices for several characters including Anderson .Paak (K’Sante), Connor Price (Sett), and Nic D (Kayn), with Baekhyun returning as Ezreal’s singing voice.
