Paint the town maroon as Maroon 5 is coming back to Manila!
The Grammy Award-winning American pop-rock band is set to return to the Philippines as part of their Maroon 5 Asia 2027 tour, giving Filipino fans another chance to hear some of the biggest pop-rock hits of the 2000s and 2010s live.
For longtime fans, this stop is more than just another international concert–it’s a chance to revisit songs that have stayed in our playlists for years like “This Love,” “She Will Be Loved,” and “Sunday Morning.”
The group is led by vocalist Adam Levine, alongside longtime members Jesse Carmichael and James Valentine, among others. But before they became known worldwide as Maroon 5, the group’s story actually began under a different name.
Back in the 1990s, Levine and some of his future bandmates formed a group called Kara’s Flowers while they were still in high school. The band released music and even signed with a major label, but their first attempt at breaking into the mainstream did not go as planned.
Instead of giving up, the members regrouped, added guitarist James Valentine, and eventually returned as Maroon 5. Their musical direction also changed, moving away from their earlier rock influences toward a more polished combination of pop, rock, R&B, funk, and soul. That reinvention turned out to be exactly what they needed.
In 2002, Maroon 5 released their debut album, “Songs About Jane” It was not an instant overnight success. In fact, the album took time to build momentum. But once songs like “This Love” and “She Will Be Loved” started climbing the charts, the band became one of the defining pop-rock acts of the era.
The rest, as they say, is history.
Maroon 5 eventually became known for their catchy melodies, polished pop production, and ability to move between rock, pop, R&B, and electronic sounds. Their success also continued long after their debut, proving that the band was more than a one-album wonder.
After 32 years, Maroon 5 continues to be part of the charts and our playlists. Rather than being centered around just one era of the band’s career, the tour is giving fans an opportunity to experience Maroon 5’s evolution—from the early “Songs About Jane” years to their more recent pop-driven releases.
