Get ready to experience stories from South Korea on the big screen as the Korean Cultural Center (KCC) of the Philippines in partnership with the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) hosts the 2026 Korean Film Festival (KFF).
Tickets are available for free, so cinemagoers are required to claim their ticket/s an hour before their scheduled screening at SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City, SM North Edsa, Quezon City, SM City Iloilo, Iloilo City, and SM Lanang, Davao City. The KCC has also released its screening schedule, with some films having an age requirement, so attendees are advised to bring a valid ID for age verification.
With the theme “K-Story: Stories That Move Us”, this year’s film festival puts on the spotlight on stories adapted from popular Korean webtoons and novels. The lineup features five Korean films from different genres, including Yumi’s Cells: The Movie, Love In The Big City, My Daughter Is A Zombie, Your Letter, and Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy.
Beyond the film screenings, two artists will also be featured to share their experiences telling stories through their art: Lee Yunchang, also known as “Chwang,” is a Korean webtoon artist and the author of My Daughter Is A Zombie, and Arnold Arre, a Filipino graphic novelist, illustrator, and animator best known as the writer and illustrator of The Mythology Class. These artistic titans will have a talk session on August 6 at the FDCP Cinematheque Centre Manila, with Arre’s works, Milky Boy, Lakas ng Lahi, and The Mythology Class Animation also being screened starting at 1 P.M.
