Exorcism isn’t just the stuff of horror movies. It’s something recognized and authorized by the Catholic church in instances of alleged demonic possession, which have been well documented since the time of the Bible.
To combat these cases, the Catholic church has established theSt. Michael Center for Exorcism and Spiritual Liberation—the first exorcism center in Asia. Named after St. Michael the Archangel, the facility houses several church offices that manage alleged instances of supernatural phenomena, including demonic and spiritual possessions.
Archbishop Cardinal Jose F. Advincula led the inauguration and blessing of the center, which is found in the Our Lady of Guadalupe Minor Seminary in Guadalupe Viejo in Makati City, where he was joined by exorcists from the archdiocese led by Fr. Jocis Syquia.
“The blessing of the Saint Michael Center for Spiritual Liberation stands as a reminder that the Church’s mission is both spiritual and deeply human. It is a call to confront evil not only in extraordinary manifestations but also in injustice, suffering, and falsehood that wound society today,” shared the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila in a statement.
The facility does not only stand as an exorcism center, but is also a place for prayer, pastoral care, and spiritual healing for those seeking guidance.
