Bebang Halo-Halo has taken the Filipino dessert market by storm, offering a long list of classic dessert options mixed with the classic halo-halo staples.
Combining all ingredients like shaved ice, condensed milk, different kinds of jellies, beans, fruit, and the iconic leche flan to top it all off, the halo-halo store skyrocketed to fame in the last five years because of classic Filipino dessert flavors like halukay ube, melon, buko pandan, mais con yelo, and more.
Starting from a humble garage shop in 2021, Bebang’s Halo-Halo began with the recipe of co-founder Mae Salumbides, the partner of Bebang’s president and CEO Sam Karazi. This quirk of a setup worked well because Salumbides served as Karazi’s proxy in tasting, as he was allergic to dairy.
Salumbides inherited the recipe from her grandmother, Bebang, staying true to tradition while breaking into the modern market of dessert. The success of one garage shop eventually turned into a quick-growing empire, with over 40 locations nationwide after only five years.
“We’re not just building stores, we’re building a brand that every Filipino can stand behind,” shared Karazi on a Facebook post as Bebang Halo-Halo celebrated the opening of its Market! Market! branch last year.
Bebang Halo-Halo proves that to become a staple is to continuously promote tradition while relentlessly innovating, creating the best of both worlds.
