Singapore’s modern Japanese dining concept has opened its first international branch in San Juan. Introducing the richness of Japanese cuisine infused with craftsmanship, fresh ingredients, and innovation of Japanese food, the restaurant opens its doors to Metro Manila foodies to try their new offerings.
Omoté was founded in 2015 as a Singaporean casual dining experience, through its 12-seater sushi kiosk called Sushiro, later rebranding to Omoté to reflect its shift to modern Japanese fusion. From the Japanese “omotenashi,” which means Japanese hospitality, and “Omotesando Hills,” which is a trendy district in Tokyo, the restaurant has continued its expansion for the last 10 years.
Co-owners of the new San Juan branch were present at the restaurant opening, including Caitlin Lee, Wesley Chan, Sherwin and Guiny Koa, Neill and Denice Chuacuco, Rainier and Sam Yu, and Vince Uy; while Omoté Asia Group members flew in to show their support, including executive chef Philip Christopher Miu, head chef Nagae Toshiharu, head of kitchen operations Brian Chong, group operations manager Wizzy Liang, and service operations head Emily Pang.
Aside from its brand of quiet craftsmanship, Omoté is known for its assortment of sushi, sashimi, and donburi that elevate typical Japanese dishes with authentic ingredients, bold flavors, and a modern atmosphere.
Omoté is now open for reservations and walk-ins at V. Ibanez Street, San Juan, Metro Manila.
